Festival Bluegrass

The Festival of the Bluegrass is the oldest Bluegrass festival in the bluegrass region of Kentucky. This 4-day event provides numerous Bluegrass music performances as well as kids camps and activities for all ages. This year’s lineup features Lonesome River Band, Russel Moore & Illrd Tyme Out, Flat Lonesome, The Grascals, and more! The festival will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park Campground, and campsites are available for the event. During the dog days of summer, the Kentucky Horse Park Campground will offer families many activities to appreciate. The Kentucky Horse Park will be hosting the annual Bluegrass Classic Dog Show and many of the participants (two legged and four legged) stay at the campground. If you love animals, the Labor Day Campout is for you. We will be offering family friendly activities such as movie nights, free pony rides, free lunch sponsored by Northside RV , Nascar races and much more.

Lexus Smooth Jazz Fest

AUGUST 14, 2021 SUMMER BREEZE SATURDAY CONCERT AT THE KENTUCKY HORSE PARK CAMPGROUNDS
• The concert is outdoors; event is rain or shine unless the forecast of severe weather threatens the safety of presenting the event as scheduled.
• A rain jacket, hat and/or umbrella are highly recommended if there is a chance of rain.
• NO OUTSIDE BEVERAGES (alcoholic or otherwise) PERMITTED.
• NO PICNIC BASKETS PERMITTED and other carrying containers are subject to search, if brought on Kentucky Horse Park grounds without advanced permission.
• Personal coolers filled with ice (that don't exceed 14-quarts) will be permitted to keep beverages purchased at the event cold.
• Food and beverages (of all types) are available for purchase at the show.
• All patrons must have a ticket for entry at the Campground Primitive sign just past the Campground Road entrance. If tickets are purchased for a group, please distribute these tickets prior to your arrival.
• Will Call tickets are available at the Campground Primitive sign entrance only. Proper photo identification is needed to obtain your tickets.
• All VIP tickets are reserved at a table that accommodates ten (10) guests. VIP tickets reserved parking along with a pre-show catered dinner, in addition to the concert.
• All ADA Wheelchair, Patron Lawn Chair tickets are for the concert only.
• CONCERT TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE and valid only for the concert for which they were purchased.
• Pets are not allowed, with the exception of Seeing Eye dogs or other service animals.
• No recording or transmission of any description, account, picture, or reproduction of event permitted.

Horse Capital Marathon

Dates: Saturday, April 15, 2023 - 07:00 AM to 05:00 PM
Event Description:

The race will start at 7:30am from the Kentucky Horse Park Campground Area.  A short section (beginning and end of the race) will be on the Legacy Trail with 98% being in scenic Central Kentucky country roads passing by 50+ Central Kentucky horse farms.

This race will be staged in Lexington, Kentucky, commonly referred to as the Horse Capital of the World.  Our Marathon/Half Marathon will begin together at 7:30am and will have a 6 hour maximum duration (per our city permit).  This means that those competing in the marathon must keep a 14 minute 30 second pace or better to complete the race in time.

Spirit in the Bluegrass Music Festival

A Tradition Rekindled

Presented by Whitaker Bank, the 2023 Spirit in the Bluegrass Music Fest is scheduled for Thursday, June 8 through Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the gorgeous Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky.
Featuring the best in bluegrass music, the event is organized by Sam Karr and Rick Greene, organizers of the IBMA award-winning SamJam Bluegrass Festival in Piketon, Ohio, and the 2023 show will mark the first bluegrass festival at the Kentucky Horse Park since the Festival of the Bluegrass was discontinued.
