The Kentucky Horse Park lives up to its reputation as THE place to get close to horses as our daily show and activity schedule demonstrates. Home to some 50 different breeds, large and small, the park introduces you to the world of the horse. Experience the behind-the-scenes sights and sounds of a real working horse farm as you explore the grounds.
HORSE-DRAWN TOUR
HORSE-DRAWN TROLLEY RIDES (year-round)
A 10 to 12-minute narrated trolley tour of the main activities area pulled by a team of Draft horses. Included with paid admission. Weather permitting.
March 15th through October 31st Tours depart at 10am, 1pm & 3pm. November 1st through March 14th Tours depart at 10:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.)
INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE HORSE
Trace the 50-million-year history of the horse. See racing trophies, priceless artifacts, carriages and more. An affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. Open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
AMERICAN SADDLEBRED MUSEUM
Home to the largest collection of Saddlebred artifacts in the world including trophies, photographs, tack, artwork and a library of over 2,400 volumes used for bloodline and genealogical research. The museum is currently closed for renovation.
Open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hours of operation extended to 6:00 pm during June, July and August.
FILM “Thou Shalt Fly Without Wings”
Nominated for an Academy Award in 1978, this film explores the relationship between man and horse.

HORSEBACK RIDING
A guided 35-minute trail ride, suitable for first time riders, takes you along the outskirts of the park. Riders must be at least 7 years old and 4-feet tall. Weight restrictions apply.
Ride load times: 9:45 am, 11:00 am, 12:15 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:45 pm and 4:00 pm.
Tickets are $22.00 per rider.
Save $7.00 when purchased with park admission.
Tickets are limited and can only be purchased the day of your visit. Purchase at the Visitor Information Center before 3:45 pm.
PONY RIDES
Not to be left out, the park’s youngest visitors can take a ride around the pony paddock.
Ride load times: 9:45 am, 11:00 am, 12:15 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:45 pm and 4:00 pm.
For ages 2 through 12; 90 pound weigh limit.
Tickets are $5.00 for three times around the paddock.

UNIQUE HORSE FARM TOURS
This rare opportunity lets you see some of the most important horses to set foot on a racetrack. Visit with Thoroughbred celebrities at some of the most beautiful horse farms in the world. You will tour the grounds of historic estates of the Bluegrass Region as well as shiny-new, multi-million dollar farms of international movers and shakers. Hear behind-the-scenes stories about the individuals and horses that make Lexington, Kentucky “The Horse Capital of the World”.
Enjoy a 2 to 3 hour tour on a 15 seat passenger van. Tours depart at 9:15 am, 12:15 pm and 3:15 pm daily from the Visitor Information Center. Tickets are limited and can be purchased in advance by calling (800) 678-8813 ext. 225 or on the day of your visit at the Visitor Information Center. Gift certificates are also available. Tickets are $25.00 per adult, $15.00 for ages 12 and under.
This tour is not recommended for children under the age of 4.
