My Man o’ War Look-Alike image

The Kentucky Horse Park and Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital have joined together to create the My Man o’ War Look-Alike photo contest.

An unveiling party to celebrate a commemorative mural of the legendary racehorse Man o’ War will take place at the local pub The Village Idiot on Thursday, June 29 at 4 p.m.

The Man o’ War Celebration, presented by Windstream, continues at the Kentucky Horse Park with a special movie night on June 24 from 6-10 p.m.

A brand new cycling event, Bourbon Country Burn, brings together some of central Kentucky’s most iconic tourism destinations. The event is a three-day fully supported cycling event headquartered at the Kentucky Horse Park September 29 – October 1, 2017.

The legendary Man o’ War, one of America’s original sporting heroes, will be depicted in larger-than-life fashion via a 30’ x 30’ mural in downtown Lexington.

Sgt. Reckless

Maryjean Wall, a retired award-winning turf writer for the Lexington Herald-Leader for 35 years, just produced a new article for the newspaper titled "New statue will honor Korean War horse, Sgt. Reckless." The life-size bronze, named Sergeant Reckless, is scheduled to be installed at the Kentucky Horse Park some time in 2018.

The United States Pony Clubs cordially invites the equine community to participate in the USPC Festival 2017 at the Kentucky Horse Park, July 22-24th. Registration for the 12th triennial event is now open and Pony Club encourages all to come learn and join the fun.
