Breyer Animal Creations, the iconic American toy brand that makes the world’s finest model horses for play and collecting, will host the 25th annual BreyerFest, our annual fan fest and horse fair, this July 11-13 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky.
Every horse has a story, and at Breyer, they’ve spent more than 60 years telling their stories and celebrating the horse/human bond. BreyerFest is our finest expression of that connection.
BreyerFest has grown from a one-day event in a field at the Kentucky Horse Park with a few hundred people in 1990 to a three-day family festival with an annual attendance of more than 10,000 guests from around the world in 2014.
Breyer has an amazing event lined up with many special guests. Here are just a few highlights:
- Emmy Award winning TV star , fashion designer and horseman Carson Kressley will present this year’s Celebration Horse, Gooitzen fan Teakesyl, a World Champion Friesian. Carson himself has shown the horse to 15 of its world champion titles.
- A Saturday evening performance featuring the breathtaking Gala of the Royal Horses, a new touring troupe from Australia featuring baroque horses performing haute école movements in unison with riders in exquisite costumes and extreme equine entertainer Tommie Turvey and Friends in a 70-minute gala performance at the Alltech Arena – a first for BreyerFest.
- Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses – There is a revolution going on in animal assisted therapy. This extraordinary non-profit uses miniature horses to give comfort and help the healing process to young victims of trauma (like the children of Sandy Hook, CT and hurricane-ravaged Oklahoma), as well as to teach and provide solace and interaction to children in libraries and adults in hospice and homes for the aging. Magic and Hamlet will appear at BreyerFest as well as making a visit to the Lexington Library and UK Childrens Hospital.
