MEDIA INVITATION : JOHN HENRY BRONZE STATUE TO BE UNVEILED

WHO: The Kentucky Horse Park and the organizers of the John Henry Memorial Fund

WHAT: Unveiling and dedication of the new bronze statue of John Henry, by sculptor Shelley Hunter, installed as a permanent memorial at his gravesite

WHEN: Wednesday, October 8, 3:30pm RAIN OR SHINE

WHERE: In front of the Hall of Champions at the Kentucky Horse Park

WHY: On the occasion of the one-year anniversary of John Henry’s death, the two-time Horse of the Year and fan favorite will be memorialized at a dedication ceremony for the sculpture by renowned equine artist, Shelley Hunter. Ms. Hunter is the executive director of the American Academy of Equine Art, headquartered at the park.

HOW: Media and public: Please park in the main parking lot and go through the Visitor Information Center. Plan to arrive at the park in time to walk to the Hall of Champions. Broadcast trucks only may park near the Hall of Champions, but please let us know in advance that you’re coming and we will provide instructions. This event is free of charge to the public.
