Camping in the Park

Set amidst the rolling hills of the Bluegrass lies one of America’s finest resort campgrounds – the Kentucky Horse Park Campground.

Amenities
Our Campground offers 260 spacious sites with 50/30/20 amp electric and water. All sites are 55′ paved back-ins with fire rings and picnic tables. Two dump stations are provided for your convenience as you exit the park. A full service facility, our Campground has many extras for your comfort including a grocery, gift shop and two bathhouses with modern conveniences. During your stay, be sure to take advantage of our tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, cool off in our junior olympic-size swimming pool, participate in our planned activities, or visit the world famous Kentucky Horse Park at a discounted rate.
The Campground also has electric primitive and primitive available for those wishing for a more rustic stay. These areas are first come, first served and fill quickly on special weekends.

Campground Store
The Campground Store carries a wide variety of grocery items including ice and firewood plus RV supplies and Kentucky Horse Park souvenirs. Store hours vary according to season.

“Kentucky Proud Nights” Farmers Market returns Friday evenings from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Memorial Day to August 27th.

*Hippity Hoppity Hunt April 3, 2010*
Come join us for our second annual Hippity Hoppity Hunt. An egg hunt, petting zoo, the Easter bunny, and other fun activities are scheduled to help us ring in the camping season. Activities start at 10:00 a.m. Egg hunt is tentatively scheduled for 12:30 p.m. weather permitting. Activities are scheduled to change.

*Nascar Day May 8, 2010*
Nascar related events will be held throughout the day including kid’s activities, bike parade, and golf cart parade. Prizes will be given for best Nascar-decorated bike and golf cart. The Darlington Sprint Cup race will be shown on the big screen in the Pavilion at 7:30 p.m. so bring your best chili or finger foods to share and join all your Nascar friends for a fun evening.

*Christmas in July July 9-10, 2010*
The Horse Shu Kru, one of our loyal RV clubs, will host “Christmas in July” Friday and Saturday, July 9 and 10. Celebrate Christmas with your camping friends while the kids enjoy crafts, Santa, campsite decorations, golf cart parade, and many more fun-filled activities. Who knows…maybe it will even snow!

*My Junk = Your Treasure Yard Sale August 6-7, 2010*
Campers can sell their junk in hopes of others buying as treasures. Homemade crafts are welcome, too. Set up fee is $10 for advertising and activities fund. The public will be invited to buy but not sell.

*Halloween Camp Out October 22-24, 2010*
The Halloween Camp Out returns for its annual fright. Come see what your friends are talking about with our kid’s crafts, costume contests, trick or treating, golf cart parade, entertainment and a haunted house – just to name a few. This is the perfect way to send the camping season out with a bang. Sponsored in part by Northside RV’s and the KHP Foundation.

Note for 2010 Season
The Kentucky Horse Park Campground will be closed August 30, 2010 to October 15, 2010 for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. The Campground has been designated as groom’s village and will be closed to the public during this time. Fort Boonesborough State Park is the nearest state park campground to the Kentucky Horse Park and is now accepting reservations for the period of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Please call Fort Boonesborough at 859-527-3131 to make reservations during the Games.

The ban on pets has been lifted and will not affect the Campground during any events except the Alltech FEI World Equestriam Games.
