Isaac Burns Murphy, a famous African-American jockey, is buried at the Kentucky Horse Park.
Building for the Future
2008 has been a big year of change for the Kentucky Horse Park. Following the announcement of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games coming to Kentucky, several projects that had been on the master plan for a number of years started to take shape. The new interest in the Kentucky Horse Park also lead to a surge in our National Horse Center growth as new national organizations are seeking to make the park their home before and after the games. To keep you informed of all the changes happening right now at the park this page was created for you to visit as often as you like, to read progress reports and see photos of the construction and updates around our 1,224 acres of Kentucky's famous Bluegrass land. We hope you will enjoy this exciting time and join us in our enthusiasm for the future.
